Hey :)
My name is Bridgette, but everyone calls me Bee. I am a Lash Artist, A mum, A FurMum, A Girlfriend, A Daughter, A Sister and a Friend. I’m 33, oh gosh! yes I feel old saying that haha. I am a lover of coffee, I literally can’t go a day without it, chocolate, Pilates, indie/rock music, fruity/floral fragrances, I'm a Gemini, you’ll always get both serious and comedic sides of me, I’m a don't take life so serious type of person.
So let’s talk about where Bee’s Lash Boutique came about,
I started Bee’s Lash Boutique in 2019 when myself and my partner Mark moved to Ipswich. Getting Lash Extensions was and still is a slight addiction of mine, they make me feel a sense of confidence within myself, they give me that sense of feeling put together. They’ve also saved me a shit tone of time in the mornings getting ready, I just cleanse my lashes in the shower, get out, dry and brush them and bobs your uncle you’re ready for the day.
In starting my own business I wanted to have a flexible work/life balance where I could be able to spend most evenings with my partner and be able to go do afternoon activities for myself and or with friends. Once I started Lashing it became apparent that I wanted to help women reclaim their time back in their routines and I have helped so many women over the years do just that. I have even managed to help busy women take time out for themselves and take a nap to recharge.
My Salon space isn’t your typical boujee space you’ll find in a commercial place. My Salon space is calm, comfortable and fun. We’ll have time to catch up on goss in each others lives like where you‘ve been, what you're planning on doing, holidays, weddings, festivals you name it we talk about it, have some lighthearted banter, you’ll even have time to relax and take a cheeky nap. I will do my best always to make you feel as comfortable as you would in your own home.
My dogs ‘Ella & Teddy’… my doorbell… my security… my grumpy fluff balls... my bossy fur babies … My loving pooches… how ever you would like to call them there is no doubt you will be greeted by them before you’re even at the door. They’re locked inside behind a baby gate for your own safety from the dreaded puppy kisses so you can come inside. You‘re more than welcome to give them pats when you get here, this will make them very happy and satisfied puppies.
My Lash journey started in January 2019 when I was on the fence about returning to my field of work, so I went and did a Lash Course in Brisbane and then started calling on models. I had an abundance of interest and gained a lot of confidence in the first year. Which lead me to my first online lash competition. I entered in a beginner Classic Lash Extensions category and would you believe it I took out first pace. I was ecstatic, over the moon, my confidence had just been boosted above and beyond where it was. I went on and continued learning more and more about the lash industry diving into short courses about retention issues, glue and how it works, how to style different shaped eyes, the list goes on. But then Covid-19 hit and businesses shut down. I am very fortunate enough to have a very supportive partner who helped me through this tough time. Whilst businesses were closed I jumped on board and did a course to build an education course. I am yet to finalise this as I am in two minds if I want to go down the educator path or stick to the tools.
Fast forward to 2021, another lash competition opportunity arose and I searched for models, again entering in to Classic Lash Category but this time as an Expert. This competition was internationally done by the Lash Open Brazil. I placed 2nd! over joyed again with the results. I couldn’t believe it, after being in lockdown for so long I still had it! My confidence was back and I was ready more than ever to keep creating beautiful lashes.
Let’s leap into 2022, this year I entered another lash competition in Classic Lashes again this time it was run by an Australian Lash Academy FBALA Lash Academy, here in Brisbane. I wasn’t expecting to place anywhere as there were soooo many Amazing artists from all over Australia and internationally who’d entered. And to my surprise I placed 3rd!!!! How exciting this was the best news to finish off my year and begin maternity leave.
My Partner Mark and I Welcomed our son Carter into the world on 27th July 2022. We were full of Love and ever so exhausted.
Let‘s accelerate to 2023, it’s been a year of juggling and by that i mean mum life and my business. Working around nap times and when my partner would be home for the first half of the year. The second half I jumped into a business course that helps me build my business from the group up again. This is a 12 month coaching from Counting on Kimberley an amazing Lady who is experienced in both the beauty and business industries. This course is helping me to build my brand and I am diving head first in to it. I am excited as hell to see the levels where I can take my business too.
My why,
why I do what I do,
I do this for myself and my family, to build security, flexibility and balance and show my son if he works hard at something he loves he can have a fulfilling life too.
I can’t wait to meet you in my home Salon to share laughs and a few snores. Hehe
